| Henrico is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a state of the United States. As of 2006, the county's population estimate has risen to 285,000, an increase of 8.5 percent over the 2000 census. It is one of the oldest counties in the United States and America's second oldest English settlement. The county's census-designated places include Chamberlayne, Dumbarton, East Highland Park, Glen Allen, Highland Springs, Lakeside, Laurel, Montrose, Sandston, Short Pump, Tuckahoe, Varina, Westhampton, and Wyndham. It is the site of Richmond International Airport and hosts an Amtrak rail passenger station. There is easy access to the county with its interstate highways including Interstate 64, Interstate 95, and Interstate 295.

The school division known as Henrico County Public Schools consists of 45 elementary schools, 13 middle schools, 9 high schools and 2 technical centers within one school district. This school district's boast is its supply of laptops to all its students at the middle-school and high-school levels.
